What are the types of UV rays?

UV radiation is classified into three main types: ultraviolet A (UVA), ultraviolet B (UVB), and ultraviolet C (UVC). All UVC radiation and most of UVB are absorbed by the earth's ozone layer, so it is estimated that of the radiation received by the planet, 5% is UVB and the rest is mostly UVA . Both UVA and UVB radiation can affect health. Although UVA radiation is weaker than UVB, it penetrates the skin more deeply and is more constant throughout the year. Because UVC radiation is absorbed by the Earth's ozone layer, it doesn't pose as much of a risk.
