# What is bleach?

Bleaching is the reduction of the concentration of hair color by an action exerted on the pigments.  
It is an operation carried out with chemical products based on two fundamental elements: hydrogen peroxide or developer and the bleaching product.

In combination, these two substances release active oxygen that acts on the pigments, reducing their concentration and producing a lightening effect in the cortex of the hair fiber.  
Bleaching is essential to obtain fashionable and trend colors. That is why it is so important for the stylist.
